VTPC has collaborated with several institutions including Chambers of Commerce, Export Promotion Councils, etc. through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote mutual cooperation of interests and leverage best practices to propel international trade from the State of Karnataka. The MoUs inked thus far include:
VTPC entered into a MoU with the Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce (ICCC), for mutual cooperation in expanding bilateral trade. The key highlights of the MoU include exchange of trade and investment related information to foster trade, technological and industrial cooperation between the two countries, development of joint venture, technology transfers and investment, exchange of trade delegations, information on science and technology etc. This besides the MOU also aims to foster linkages for the development of innovation and technology support systems in Karnataka through competent resources and assist in garnering overseas financial support for such initiatives.
VTPC entered into a MoU with the India China Economic and Cultural Council (ICEC) in 2013. Through the MoU, the ICEC has evinced interest in investments in major industry projects in the State spanning Infrastructure, Energy, Environmental protection & high-technology, Tourism, Agriculture, Farm machinery, Transport & Logistics. The MoU also provides scope for cross border investment in the SME sector in Karnataka and sharing best practices in transport infrastructure like road and bridge building technologies,policies and intelligent traffic system.
VTPC facilitated the process for the Government of Karnataka to sign an Agreement of Dialogue with the State of Delaware on the occasion of the visit of Mr. Jack A. Markell, the Governor of the State of Delaware to the State of Karnataka. The MOU aims to capitalize synergies between the Government of Karnataka and Delaware to advance learning in the realm of health sciences, information technology, social media, advanced materials and clean technology industries to enhance economic co-operation. The other areas of collaboration include exploring opportunities for concerted cooperation and mutual learning in areas like information security, e-government services, entrepreneurship, corporate governance and patent law.
VTPC entered into a MoU w.r.t the Bangalore – San Francisco Sister City Initiative. The MoU entails formation of working group for all the 11 MoUs, establishment of International Help Desk in San Francisco and San Francisco Office in Bangalore and initiation of the action plan for all the 11 MoUs. Taking forward the initiative, Mayor of San Francisco Mr.Edwin M Lee, led a delegation of prime industrialists and Heads of SFO Utilities to Bangalore during Dec 2013. MoUs were entered into with BBMP, BWSSB, BMTC, VTPC, KPTCL, BESCOM, KREDL, KSIIDC, Kannada & Culture Department and C & I Department.
The MoU with the State of Bavaria provides scope to explore possibilities of adopting German expertise in waste water management and conservation and management of historical monuments. The MoU also facilitates collaborative projects in trade, IT, bio-technology, genetic engineering besides development of education sector at school and university level in both regions.
VTPC entered into a MoU with the North East Process Industry Cluster, UK in March 2014. The MoU lays thrust to areas of mutual cooperation in sectors spanning Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Specialty Petrochemical & Commodity Chemicals. MoU states both the partners would exchange info about investment & trade opportunities & relevant policies & regulations pertaining to the chemical & process industry. This besides organizing joint trade & investment missions, assisting visiting missions wherever possible, making arrangements to provide services whenever requested & also providing for mutual consulting & advice between the respective organizations.
VTPC has inked a MOU with India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO), New Delhi for the mutual cooperation and benefit in the areas of exchange of information on each other’s scope of activities pertaining to economic development and trade, identification of potential products/markets for investment and trade, cooperation in the conduct and participation in domestic and overseas trade promotion activities, periodic interaction to chart strategies to boost trade and exports and mutual offering of consultancy services within the scope of business service.
VTPC entered into a MoU with the World Trade Center office Bangalore, in July 2014. Among the key highlights, the MoU provides scope to both the parties to identify potential products/markets and partners for investment and trade. The areas of cooperation include information dissemination pertaining to investment, trade, technology transfer and economic cooperation from time to time and conduct of capacity building programs in the international trade space for the benefit of budding exporters.
VTPC has signed a MoU with the Centre for WTO Studies (CWS), New Delhi, by nurturing the links already established between the two organizations. The objective of the MoU is to deepen the engagement and cooperation of the States in the areas of WTO and international trade, through conduct of capacity building programs across the State, Research Studies on contemporary topics pertaining to WTO & international trade for enhancing stakeholders’ participation and inputs from States for trade policy making and trade promotion.
VTPC has entered into a MoU with the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI), an apex body to promote and facilitate trade, industry and business. The MoU entails identification of potential products and markets, dissemination of information periodically between the two organizations related to investment, trade, technical transfer and economic cooperation. This besides the two organizations shall cooperate in the conduct of various capacity building programs, participate in economic and trade exhibitions, Buyer-Seller Meets, Business Development Meets, Symposiums, Seminars and Workshops.
