VTPC conducts a series of capacity building programs on an ongoing basis for the benefit of its exporter fraternity and various stakeholders. The most popular programs include the Export Awareness Program (EAP), Export Management Training Program (EMTP), Seminars, Workshops/Conferences pertaining to international trade, WTO & IPR matters, Interactive and Open House Redressal Meets across the State. This besides, a host of National and international exhibitions and Trade Fairs are organized on a regular basis. The India International Trade Fair (IITF), held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi is an annual event and provides a unique opportunity to exporters to showcase their competencies to the outside world.
Industries / Traders who have engaged in foreign trade, should equip themselves with knowledge pertaining to the changes and latest developments taking place across the various facets of international trade viz., export finance, export insurance, packaging / eco-labelling, quality, revised amendments to Acts & Rules of State and Central Government, etc. They should also acquaint themselves with the rules and procedures of importing / exporting countries etc. Hence, there is a need to conduct Workshops / Seminars / Conferences regularly on different aspects of international trade and across different sectors in the State.
The events help in bridging the information gap and also provide the necessary guidance to the exporters to update their knowledge in the field of exports and services offered by various agencies of State / Central Government. The capacity building programs are organised in association with the Export Promotions Councils, Chambers of Commerce, Industry Associations and other trade bodies for the benefit of Industrial/exporter fraternity.
Seminars / Workshops are conducted on Export Awareness, International trade, WTO matters, with special focus on country’s products and markets for the promotion of exports from the State. Specific workshops and training programs are also conducted on Innovation Management and the entire spectrum of Intellectual Property Rights through the WTO & IPR Relay Cell.
VTPC as the nodal agency for the promotion of exports from the State of Karnataka is constantly trying to break new grounds to facilitate the lot of exporters in their business. With this objective, VTPC conducts the Export Awareness Programs (EAP) across various districts with special emphasis towards the regional development of Northern Karnataka. These awareness programs have evinced the interest of promising exporters especially in sectors like agro products, automobiles, handicrafts, among others. The Resource Persons/Faculty at these EAPs are represented by Export Promotion Councils, Trade Associations, agencies involved in International trade, local trade and industry specific associations, academia and key government officials and agencies. The topics covered span across export potential and awareness, export formalities, etc. to facilitate the prospective and budding exporters across the State.
VTPC conducts Short Term, Six Days incisive Export Management Training Programmes on full time basis, at a nominal fee. The objective of the Program is to provide intensive training on all basic and key nuances pertaining to the exports landscape like export marketing, procedures & formalities, documentation, finance, packaging, shipment, certifications/quality, insurance and other facilities offered by various agencies in export promotion.
Resource Persons for the Training Program are drawn from the pool of experts in the field and admissions are limited to 25 delegates per batch. Certificates of Participation are awarded to all the delegates at the end of the training program.
VTPC also customizes the EMTP aligned to the needs of academia, in an abridged version of the program called Exports Training Program (ETP). The program has generated a very positive response with several requests from academia for such value based programs for the student fraternity.
