The Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre is the designated Nodal Agency of the State for the promotion of International Trade from Karnataka, registered under the Karnataka Societies Act. It is supervised and regulated by an autonomous body constituted by the Government of Karnataka. VTPC has been operational since 1965 under the aegis of the Department of Industries & Commerce. VTPC is named after the Chief architect of modern Karnataka, Bharat Ratna Late Sir M.Visvesvaraya, who was instrumental in the industrialization of the State.
